The four SpinBob tournaments

Down in the Lantern Reef, the shark captain likes a leaderboard. SpinBob runs four competitions for players in Great Britain, and every prize is paid as cash with no wagering. You opt in on each tournament page, and spins of £0.20 or more count.

How points work

Multiplier scoring on slot races

The Tide Cup and Deep Dive Daily score each qualifying spin by its win multiplier: your win divided by your stake. A £3 win on a £0.20 spin is a 15x multiplier, so it scores 15 points. A £3 win on a £1 spin scores only 3.

That is the key point for UK players: multiplier scoring rewards a lucky spin, not a bigger stake. Playing at £0.20 gives you exactly the same chance of a top score per spin as playing at £5.

  • Tide Cup: your weekly score is the total of your 10 best multipliers from Monday to Sunday.
  • Deep Dive Daily: your score is your single best multiplier of the day, and the board resets at midnight UK time.

Ties are split by whoever reached the score first.

Lagoon Live Leaderboard scoring

The monthly live leaderboard runs on live blackjack and roulette tables. Points come from settled rounds; the current formula, eligible tables and per-round caps are shown on the tournament page each month, so check it before you sit down. Side bets and voided rounds don’t count.

Reef Drops

Reef Drops are random cash prizes that land on selected slots during a drop period. There is no leaderboard and no score: any qualifying spin of £0.20 or more, made after opting in, can trigger a drop. The value of each drop and the list of participating games are shown on the Reef Drops page.

Prizes are credited as cash once the leaderboard is confirmed, usually within a working day of the tournament ending. If you are part-way through a KYC check, a prize can still be credited but a withdrawal waits until verification is complete; our KYC verification guide explains the documents.

How to opt in

  1. Log in to SpinBob (see our SpinBob login guide if you have trouble).
  2. Open the Tournaments tab in the lobby menu.
  3. Pick the Tide Cup, Deep Dive Daily, Lagoon Live Leaderboard or Reef Drops card and read its rules.
  4. Tap Opt in. The card changes to show you are taking part.
  5. Launch a participating game from the tournament card and play at £0.20 or more per spin.
  6. Track your position on the live leaderboard; it updates every few minutes.

You need to opt in to each tournament separately, and to the Tide Cup again each week. Spins played before you opt in don’t score.

A sensible tournament strategy

Training for the Tide Cup? Pace yourself — the reef will still be here next week.

Tournaments are entertainment with a prize attached, not a way to earn money. Here is how our guide approaches them:

  1. Set your budget first. Decide what a week of Tide Cup play is worth to you and set a weekly deposit limit in Account → Safer Gambling to match. Limits drop instantly; increases take 24 hours.
  2. Play the minimum stake. Multiplier scoring means £0.20 spins score exactly like £5 spins. There is no leaderboard reason to stake more.
  3. Don’t chase a position. Sliding from 40th to 60th late on Sunday is not a reason to keep spinning. The prize gap is small; the cost of chasing isn’t.
  4. Use reality checks. Session reminders tell you how long you have been playing and what you have spent. Turn them on.
  5. Pick one race. Running the Tide Cup, Deep Dive Daily and a live leaderboard at the same time is a lot of play. Choose the one you enjoy most.
  6. Know when to stop. If tournament play starts to feel like a chore or a chase, take a time-out of 24 hours to 6 weeks, or read our responsible gambling guide. GamCare’s helpline is free, 24/7, on 0808 8020 133.

Quick answers

Do SpinBob tournament prizes have wagering?

+

No. Tide Cup, Deep Dive Daily, Lagoon Live Leaderboard and Reef Drops prizes are paid as cash with no wagering. They land in your cash balance and can be withdrawn like any other winnings.

What is the minimum stake for SpinBob tournaments?

+

Spins of £0.20 or more count towards tournaments. The usual UK maximum still applies: £5 per spin, or £2 per spin if you are aged 18 to 24.

Do I need to opt in to every tournament?

+

Yes. Opt in on each tournament page before you play. Spins played before you opt in do not score points.

How are Tide Cup points calculated?

+

Points equal the win-to-stake multiplier of a spin, so a £4 win on a £0.20 spin scores 20 points. Because points come from multipliers rather than the amount staked, a bigger stake does not give you a bigger score.

Can I take part in tournaments while using a bonus?

+

Usually yes, as long as your spins meet the £0.20 minimum on qualifying slots. Check the tournament page for any games or bonus funds that are excluded that week.
